Overview

Sessions in Setsy represent scheduled times and days where players gather to play racket sports like tennis, pickleball, or padel. Previously, Setsy only supported a single session at a time, meaning once a session ended, it was gone. With this update, multiple sessions can now be created and managed within a club.

Creating a New Session

To start a new session, follow these steps:

  1. Click "Start New Session"

    • If no session exists, a button will appear to create one.
    • Alternatively, use the "Start New Session" button in the top menu.
  2. Enter Session Details

    • Session Name: Example: Monday Night Social
    • Sport Type: Select from Tennis, Pickleball, or Padel.
    • Court Allocation: Specify which courts will be used (e.g., Courts 1-4).
  3. Create the Session

    • After filling in the details, click Create Session.

Managing a Session

Once a session is created, you will be taken to the session management screen, where you can:

  • Mark Players as Playing: Add or remove participants for this session.
  • Generate Rounds: Click the Generate Rounds button to match players.
  • Manage Court Assignments:
    • Adjust the number of courts being used.
    • Example: If Court 4 is unavailable due to a broken net, you can modify the courts accordingly.

Ending a Session

When the session concludes:

  1. Click End Session.
  2. The session will be recorded, displaying:
    • Session time and date.
    • The person who created the session.
  3. You can revisit past sessions to review details or continue an ongoing session.

Creating Multiple Sessions Simultaneously

Setsy now allows multiple sessions at the same time. For example:

  • A Monday Night Tennis session may be running at Courts 1-4.
  • Simultaneously, a Monday Night Pickleball session can be created, using Courts 12-15.

Each session operates independently, allowing different organizers to manage their respective events.

Summary

  • Sessions allow multiple groups to play at the same time.
  • Players and courts can be managed within each session.
  • A session history is available for review and updates.

This update enhances flexibility by supporting multiple concurrent sessions and maintaining a session history for clubs.
